5 things real estate agents can do with ChatGPT

ChatGPT is the AI tool taking the world by storm, and the real estate industry is no exception.

Elite Agent Managing Editor Samantha McLean recently held a Pro Member masterclass explaining the transformative potential ChatGPT has, as well as covering recommendations for how you can integrate the new technology into your business.

Sam says that while ChatGPT won’t replace real estate agents, it will mean agents need to be sources of hyper-localised knowledge about their market to remain distinct and relevant.

She also warned that while ChatGPT is pretty good at content creation, the pieces it produces still require a thorough fact check and a quick edit to make sure your content remains unique.

As for how it can help you in your day-to-day, here are some of the highlights:

Use ChatGPT to produce a video script

Potential prompts: Write me a two-minute video script based on this document.

ChatGPT can be used to produce a video script from another piece of writing by leveraging its natural language processing abilities.

By inputting the text of a written piece, ChatGPT can analyse the content and generate a script that accurately reflects the key points and themes.

This can save time and effort when you want to repurpose written content into video form.

Use cases could include creating a video script for the property which includes directions for shots to be filmed.

The tech can even tell you how long the finished video might be and create shorter lengths for TikTok.

ChatGPT as a research assistant

Potential prompts: Give me the five key points from this paper.

ChatGPT can boost your efficiency when it comes to learning new content, Sam says.

You can feed documents or reports into the tool and ask it questions about the content to isolate the information that is most relevant to you.

You can even feed video transcripts (though not the original video) into ChatGPT and tell it to give you a summary, potentially saving you hours of watching time.

If you’re writing your own content, you can input a research question or topic and ChatGPT can provide relevant information and sources for further investigation.

ChatGPT can also help you organise research findings, saving time and effort in the research process.

Get ChatGPT to write your listing descriptions

Potential prompts: Write me a 200-word listing description for (insert address here).

ChatGPT can be used to write a real estate listing description by analysing existing descriptions and generating new ones based on patterns and relevant keywords.

By inputting the property features and other relevant information, ChatGPT can create a listing description that is tailored to the property and its unique features.

This can save time and effort for real estate agents and improve the quality of the listing descriptions they produce.

Sam was able to use the AI to create a description and summary of her old house, which was of reasonable quality and nearly good enough to use as a listing.

The AI was then able to make the first paragraph more interesting and also cut the word count in half.

Use ChatGPT to boost your SEO

Potential prompts: Write me a 600-word article on why spring is the best time to sell.

ChatGPT is able to identify key search results that people are searching for as well as showing you the types of content you need to make.

Additionally, ChatGPT can assist in identifying relevant keywords and topics for blog posts or other content, creating high-quality, keyword-rich content that can attract more visitors and improve SEO.

It’s also able to put together a 600-word blog post that is optimised on SEO and is a reasonable standard.

Use ChatGPT to build unique tools for your site

Potential prompts: Write me code for a mortgage calculator.

One way to help you stand out from the competition is to offer clients access to tools they can’t find anywhere else.

ChatGPT can be a big help here because it removes the need for you to learn how to HTML code, or employ someone external to do it for you.

Instead, you can ask ChatGPT to write you basic HTML or CSS code for a tool such as a mortgage calculator and simply copy and paste the code onto your website.
