Married couple Kass and Peter Livesey launch their own Sunshine Coast agency

Like many in the real estate industry, Kass and Peter Livesey wanted what’s best for their family.

Ms and Mr Livesey had a vision for their future, aiming to continue developing their personal and professional growth while having more options for their children.

This universal goal is behind the launch of the Sunshine Coast’s newest agency, Livesey Property Co in Tewantin.

Starting out

Ms Livesey started in real estate straight after school, progressing through the ranks of a small, family-run office.

“I started at the front desk and ended up being with them 10 years, and I’ve probably done just about every job in the industry – property management, business development, holiday management, sales, admin – you name it, I’ve done it,” she said.

“I really enjoyed it. I liked working with people and I loved how two days were never the same.”

Mr Livesey came from a family business himself. He was running his father’s tiling operation before joining Ms Livesey at her agency.

“My boss thought Pete would do really well in sales, and he has.”

Moving on

The couple soon realised that by joining forces professionally, they’d become a powerhouse sales team.

“People often say it must be hard working with your spouse, but we complement each other really well,” Ms Livesey said.

“Pete’s punctual, ordered and just gets things done. I’m not always like that but I bring plenty else to the table with relationships and networking.”

The dynamic duo eventually moved on to a bigger franchise agency and it proved to be a fruitful shift that lasted six years.

“We liked it there. It was a good environment, but I think we always knew we want to grow beyond working for someone else,” Ms Livesey said.

Going out on their own

But the duo both had a dream of running their own agency.

“You do start to think about things. You want to do things your own way,” Ms Livesey explained.

“We wanted to start something for ourselves, but there are a lot of things to consider in opening a business.”

Ms Livesey said she’d been looking at support options for a while, and started following UrbanX CEO, Dan Argent, on social media.

She felt the “relaxed and easy to talk to” brand image of UrbanX fit with their own goals for their business.

Ms Livesey said the next six months will be about building their brand, with the eventual goal of being the number one agents in the Tewantin area.

“We want to be running full steam ahead,” she said, explaining they felt UrbanX would help them achieve those goals.
