Maleny Realty enters an exciting new era with Agents’Agency

Twenty-five years after first opening its doors, a Sunshine Coast agency has entered a new era, with Maleny Realty joining the growing ranks of the Agents’Agency network.

Established in 1998 by current principal Geoff Wells, the boutique agency has seen the region grow and evolve into one of Queensland’s most sought-after lifestyle destinations.

Now they’re looking to reflect this shift, with a new look, a new feel, a cutting-edge website, and a new partnership with the Agents’Agency.

Mr Wells explained the move was prompted by sales agent and marketing expert Jason Bartholomew who recently joined Maleny Realty to further a successful sales career.

“Jason had previously worked with the Agents’Agency as an agent at Clarke and Co, Beerwah,” Mr Wells explained.

“He’d seen what the network could do in terms of building an independent brand with back-of-house support, mentoring, and a national network of agents and professionals all working in the interests of clients.”

After more than two decades running his own business, Mr Wells said he did not require much convincing when it came to embracing the ‘Your brand, your business’ model.

“Jason raved about the support we would receive while still retaining our own independence and our own brand,” Mr Wells said.

“I’ve been in business a long time. I’ve established a reputation and built my credibility, but with the growth of this region and the recent sale of our rent-roll, it was time to consider a new way forward.”

Mr Bartholomew has been spearheading the shift to the Agents’Agency network in the knowledge it allows the business to retain its identity yet enjoy access to training, mentoring, administration, and a proven tech stack.

“I had witnessed first-hand the support the Agents’Agency provided in the background,” he said.

“The whole team at Agents’Agency wants you to succeed in the knowledge your success is theirs.”

Over recent years, the Maleny property market has proved increasingly popular, with interstate buyers, Brisbane residents and other Queenslanders all flocking to a location renowned for its lifestyle, climate and natural beauty.

As a result, properties have steadily increased in value, with the median house price now just shy of $1 million, and high-end homes commanding anywhere between $10 million and $17 million.

Eight real estate agencies now line the main street, but Maleny Realty remains one of the longest- standing.

Mr Bartholomew noted the new brand, new look, cutting-edge website and access to a national network was all designed to cater to a new era in the region, while capitalising on the agency’s established reputation.

“It’s a well-known brand and Geoff is held in high esteem as a trustworthy operator, great agent and exceptional principal,” Mr Bartholomew said.

“We wanted to position ourselves as the go-to agency for local sellers while enhancing our well- established reputation in this market.”

Both Mr Wells and Mr Bartholomew said working with the Agents’Agency would allow them to concentrate on listing and selling properties, along with building the business.

“Over the next couple of years, we plan to see our team grow,” Mr Bartholomew said.

“We want to see Maleny Realty in the top three agencies serving this area. Working with the Agents’Agency and tapping into its support and systems is the obvious partnership to achieve that aim.”
