Local Property Team offers new business model that’s local by name and nature

With a career spanning more than 17 years, encompassing a range of real estate companies and positions, Local Property Team chief executive officer, Brennan Hill has seen it all.

From junior property manager to team leader; business development executive to director/principal, Mr Hill’s exposure to the entire real estate ecosystem has been vast, allowing him to see first hand the limitations of traditional business models, such as career succession plans, or lack thereof, and the necessary technology to balance work and life.

This experience of an ever-evolving industry afforded him the opportunity to take the best parts of a range of business structures and systems, and apply those he found most valuable to build Local Property Team from the ground up.

That included advanced technology, appealing commission splits, digital marketing strategies, and a work/life balance that Mr Hill believes is more conducive to the modern day than what’s currently on offer by mainstream franchises.

It’s been two years since Mr Hill left a leading franchise to bring his vision to life, resulting in what he describes as a business that incorporates the professionalism of the big corporates, underpinned by world class technology and training, all wrapped in a brand that’s local by name and by nature.

“The brand was specifically created to allow agents on the ground to further embed themselves into the local community and build their personal brand awareness,” said Mr Hill.

“Why should an agent work for an agency that is titled with someone else’s name?”

He notes agents were immediately attracted to the concept, prompting Mr Hill to develop a fixed fee real estate franchise offering, incorporating what he believes to be the essential elements required by modern-day real estate professionals.

Since launching two years ago, Local Property Team has established its presence in multiple shires across South East Queensland, with agents servicing suburbs on the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, and Moreton.

Mr Hill says the marketplace continues to respond to his fresh approach to franchising with Local Property Team’s first Logan-based franchise owner, Peter Mitchell, recently jumping on board, leaving his well-established franchise in Springwood behind.

“Local Property Team has the training required to support my agents in the modern digital era,” said Mr Mitchell.

“My agents have commented that the training they have received since joining has been the best they have ever had.”

Ryan Pitts, lead agent with Local Property Team in Burpengary, plans to transition to franchise ownership over the next 12 months through the Local Property Team Leadership Program.

Mr Pitts has already experienced success under the Local Property Team system, listing 12 properties for sale in July, as well as completing $2.8 million in unconditional sales, all while working remotely.

Mr Hill said the intention behind Local Property Team was always that a lead agent in any suburb in Australia could grab the brand, training and support, and quickly create a positive public perception in their local marketplace, all without needing a high street office location.

“If you’ve found yourself questioning the value and efficiency of your current situation, it might just be time for a change, whether it’s with Local Property Team or any of the other pioneers out there working hard to level up the industry, and bring much needed change for our hard working agents.”
