Colliers has expanded its Occupier Services senior leadership team with the appointment of industry heavyweight Chris Hynes as Regional Director.
Based in the firm’s Melbourne CBD office, Mr Hynes brings extensive national and regional experience across the industrial, office and retail asset classes to the role.
With more than 30 years of real estate experience, his career spans leasing, development, advisory and management. His track record includes major leasing and pre-commitment transactions, strategic development planning and senior leadership roles.
Mr Hynes has previously served as Head of Leasing and Workplace at Dexus, and as Managing Director of CBRE’s Global Corporate Services business in the Pacific.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Colliers’ Occupier Services business and working alongside a team of market leaders to focus on outstanding client outcomes,” Mr Hynes said.
“I am impressed by the depth of the leadership team and the talent coming through at Colliers, and I look forward to working closely with them to create value for our growing client base.”
Mr Hynes will focus on leveraging his experience to deliver value to Colliers’ global customer base.
“Working closely with my counterparts across regions, Andrew Hallisay in EMEA, Mike Davis in Asia Pacific, and Jodie Poirier in the Americas, we will share knowledge, best practices and client insights to strengthen our capabilities,” he said.
Richard Garing, Managing Director, Occupier Services Australia, welcomed the appointment, noting his previous working relationship with Mr Hynes.
“Chris’ reputation and experience are second to none. Having worked closely with Chris for many years, first as an outstanding tenant adviser and then as a colleague at Dexus for over eight years, I am incredibly excited to have him join the team,” Mr Garing said.
Mr Hynes’ appointment rounds out an impressive line-up of strategic hires designed to supercharge Colliers’ Australian Occupier Services offering.
Over the past two years, the team has welcomed several senior leaders including Mr Garing, who joined in 2024 after 12 years leading Dexus’ office portfolio.
Other notable appointments during this period include Scott Soutar, former Head of Real Estate at Nine Entertainment Co.; Karen Primmer, former Head of Workplace at AMP Capital and, most recently, Sam Hindmarsh, former General Manager of Property at Metcash.
“Our high-performing team creates significant value for our clients across portfolio management, transactional advisory and workplace solutions,” Mr Garing said.
“Clients are facing transformational challenges across all sectors, with macro issues such as development supply, AI and retail margins impacting property decisions and strategies.
“The next five-year cycle will be critical, and we have a complete service offering, backed by deep experience, to help clients navigate this period and deliver exceptional results.”
