Britney Spears has sold her sprawling Calabasas mansion for just over US$10 million, a significant loss from the US$11.7 million she paid for it just eight months ago.
The buyer, Ezekiel Tyson Jr., is a Dallas-based personal injury attorney and real estate investor, The Dirt reported.
The single-storey mansion was built in 2008 and is located in the double-gated Estates at the Oaks neighbourhood and boasts 1021sq m of living space on a huge 1.6-acre block.
Inside, guests are greeted by custom steel entry doors that open into a 10-metre Cantera stone foyer along with an array of lavish interiors that include imported onyx, a combination of hardwood and stone floors, high vaulted ceilings, arched hallways, chandeliers, Ann Sacks mosaic tile designs and unique hand-carved fireplaces.
Some of the highlights of the property include a wine cellar, a 10-seat movie theatre, a fireside living room and formal dining room, a wood-panelled study, a wet bar-equipped lounge and a โgift-wrapping roomโ.
The mansionโs gourmet kitchen comes with a centre island and breakfast nook and is fitted out with top-of-the-range stainless steel appliances and connects to the oversized family room as well as a nearly 200sq m alfresco dining area with fireplace and built-in barbeque.
Meanwhile, the master retreat boasts its own fireplace, seating area, dual walk-in closet, marble bath and soaking tub along with a private terrace.
Outside the grounds look more like a resort with a 16-metre swimming pool, a spa with tiered waterfalls and a waterslide, as well as a detached one-bedroom guesthouse and five-car garage.
Spears currently still owns a 21-acre Thousand Oaks mansion she purchased back in 2015 for US$7.4 million.
The sale was handled by Bryce Pennel of Compass.
