The milestone move is planned for Q4 2026 coinciding with five years of partnership between the Malouf’s and the Highland Group, a collaboration that has driven significant growth and cemented the business’s position as one of the most respected and high-performing real estate agencies in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
The group’s new Double Bay headquarters at 2 Bay Street sets a new benchmark for agent infrastructure and workplace experience in one of Sydney’s most prestigious postcodes.
Developed by Fortis, one of Australia’s foremost development managers, Ruby House represents Double Bay’s first luxury strata office development in more than a decade.
The building will offer state-of-the art amenities and provide an exceptional workplace environment, featuring a private gym and wellness club including a sauna, all available to the Highland Double Bay team and its broader network.
Designed to support both performance and wellbeing, the new headquarters reflects Highland’s long-term vision for growth and its ongoing investment in its people.
Highland Double Bay Malouf will occupy a custom designed floor, combining their sales, property management and marketing divisions, as well as Highland’s legal, finance and operations teams in a premium, purpose-built environment designed to attract and retain the industry’s highest-calibre talent.
Highland’s CEO, David Highland says “I consider Ruby House to be the best new commercial building on a national level. It underpins our Eastern Suburbs team and broader network while reflecting the calibre of clients we serve and the standards we set as a group.”
“We will spare no expense in elevating both the client and agent experience in creating a refined destination with elegantly designed interiors that feel more like an exclusive private residence than a traditional office space; a place where clients and agents genuinely enjoy spending time, and one that reflects both the standard of service we provide and the quality of properties we represent.”
“Having a market‑leading real estate agency like Highland Double Bay Malouf choose Ruby House as its new home speaks volumes about the strength of the building and the future of the precinct. As a business deeply connected to the local property market, Highland’s move signals confidence in Double Bay’s evolution and reinforces Ruby House as the new commercial heart of the suburb.” comments Matthew Barakat from Fortis
Highland has engaged Surry Hills-based interior design studio, StudioJos, alongside specialist Eastern Suburbs construction firm JCorp to deliver a bespoke experience that seamlessly blends sophisticated design with exceptional functionality.
The space will feature a dedicated in-house auction room, multiple client meeting suites, an executive boardroom and a series of thoughtfully curated breakout spaces. Complementing these amenities is a state-of-the-art kitchen and a mix of private offices and flexible workspaces tailored to support agents and their teams.
Every element is being carefully considered to create a highly functional, sophisticated environment that enhances both productivity and the client experience.
Director of Highland Double Bay Malouf, Bill Malouf says “At a time when attracting and retaining top talent has become a defining factor in agency performance, Highland’s investment in world-class facilities underscores our commitment to being the employer of choice in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.”
David Malouf Co-Director and prestige agent said, “We are extremely excited about this new space and to be part of this vibrant new precinct, which will provide a unique experience not only for our team but also for our valued clients.”
The move also coincides with Highland’s 19th anniversary and its first-ever brand evolution, marking a defining moment in the company’s history and signaling the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“2026 will be a landmark year for Highland,” says Mr Highland. “As we look to the next six months, we’re unveiling a refined, fresh brand identity that reflects our ambition and the standard of excellence that underpins every aspect of our business.”
“At the same time, we’re embracing our future as a digital-first agency, integrating leading technology and AI into our everyday operations to enhance efficiency, empower our agents and deliver an even better experience for our clients.”
