Standards will rise across Australia’s real estate industry in 2026, and those who meet them with excellence, integrity and a focus on long-term community value will lead the path forward.
That’s the view of Thomas McGlynn, BresicWhitney Chief Executive Officer and President of the Real Estate Institute of NSW, who took the stage at the group’s annual Growth Summit this month.
Mr McGlynn spoke about BresicWhitney’s 20-year track record of leading Sydney real estate, and the importance of the industry collectively raising standards across 2026, in line with evolving consumer expectations, legislative settings and economic forces.
“Leading is part of our BresicWhitney legacy, our present, and our future. It’s a responsibility we all share.
“As industry standards and expectations rise this year, those who embrace integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to long-term community value will be the ones who continue to lead.”
The Growth Summit is a signature event on the BresicWhitney calendar.
The 2026 Summit was held at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, bringing together its 200-strong team across sales, property management and operations in an iconic harbourside location.
The Summit balanced industry vision with individual application.
Esteemed performance coach Nam Baldwin presented on breath work, self-regulation, and mental clarity.
Practical tools and strategies were shared to find calm and balance each day: from breathing techniques, to matching your mindset to the moment, the link between process and purpose, and more.
Also taking the stage was Belinda Sinclair, Vice President of Domain – sponsor of the Growth Summit.
Ms Sinclair explored a fixed mindset versus a growth mindset: an attribute that’s essential in driving meaningful personal improvement.
The day was brought to life by BresicWhitney’s Operations team, with signature branded merchandise created and designed by the group’s in-house Creative team.
Mr McGlynn concluded, “The quality of our daily culture, the experiences we create, the conversations we have – each of these reflect our commitment to our people. The Growth Summit showcases that our greatest competitive advantage isn’t one strategy or a system. It’s our people, and our willingness to invest in one another.”
