This significant milestone comes as the Harcourts Foundation celebrates its 16th year of operation, demonstrating the strength of clear values and purpose in driving meaningful community impact.
The achievement reflects Harcourts’ unwavering commitment to making a genuine difference in the lives of the people and communities they serve.
The Harcourts Foundation operates across three countries, with members of Harcourts contributing through various channels.
The majority of donations come from Harcourts offices, with business owners and sales consultants regularly contributing with each property they sell.
Others within the corporate network donate through salary sacrifice, fundraisers, and prize auctions at corporate events.
“Harcourts has proudly worked since 1888 in our communities every day to fulfil people’s dreams of achieving a home. Alongside that, we have also built a long and enthusiastic history of supporting thousands of community initiatives to benefit tens of thousands of our neighbours,” Pauline Smith, Australia’s Head of The Harcourts Foundation said.
“Reaching the $10 million mark is an incredible achievement, but what truly matters is the outcomes the donations have enabled the hard-working charities to achieve at a local level.”
Recent examples of Foundation support include a $10,000 grant to The Big Umbrella Foundation, a Melbourne-based charity providing food relief to vulnerable communities, and a partnership with Backpack Bed for Homeless in Australia.
In New Zealand, hospices across the country are benefitting from nearly $32,000 in funding for specialised equipment through the Foundation’s ninth year partnering with Hospice New Zealand. South African recipients include Durbanville Children’s Home, Johannesburg Children’s Home, Mazizakhe Children’s Home, and many more.
The Foundation is guided by Harcourts’ core values of putting people first, doing the right thing, being courageous, and embracing fun and laughter.
These values define the Harcourts Foundation’s commitment to enriching and supporting local communities, even during challenging times.
“10 million dollars raised, and 1,585 charities supported is an incredible achievement, and one that is a testament to the Harcourts spirit,” Mike Green, Managing Director, Harcourts International said.
“Team Harcourts continues to offer their incredible support to needy organisations with every single dollar raised being given to people and groups in real need.โ
