Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons list Cremorne estate Ingleneuk for $23 million

Lisa Wilkinson and her husband, author Peter FitzSimons, have put their long-held family estate in Cremorne on the market with an asking price of $23 million.

Known as Ingleneuk, the landmark Federation residence was built in 1903 and is being offered for only the second time in its 122-year history. Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons purchased the property in 1998 for a reported $2.95 million, later acquiring neighbouring blocks to restore the estate to its original size.

Set on 3,214sqm of Will Dangarโ€“designed gardens, the estate commands sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

The two-storey residence has been carefully preserved and enhanced through an award-winning renovation by heritage architect Clive Lucas, with a further Lucas-designed DA approved for a new triple garage, studio accommodation and a garden room.

BlackDiamondz founder and listing agent Monika Tu describes the Cremorne estate as one of Sydneyโ€™s most remarkable properties, blending scale, heritage and a rich celebrity pedigree.

With a price guide of $23 million, the home has already drawn strong attention, with Monika confirming that the first inspection generated multiple contracts and interest from seven to nine prospective buyers.

โ€œItโ€™s beautiful โ€” a heritage home, large in scale, with amazing views, a pool, a tennis court and so much character,โ€ she said.

โ€œIt feels grand but also carries a touch of history. We see many big houses, but this one has a certain character that people will love.โ€

Monika said the propertyโ€™s profile extends beyond bricks and mortar: โ€œItโ€™s iconic.”

โ€œEveryone I talk to knows the home. People in politics and media have been there – theyโ€™ve played tennis with Peter or had tea with Lisa. Itโ€™s a really famous property.โ€

Inside, the property features:

  • An expansive parentsโ€™ retreat with sunroom, dressing rooms, ensuite and harbour-view balcony
  • Stately formal lounge and dining rooms with twin fireplaces
  • An entertainerโ€™s kitchen with marble finishes and a sunlit breakfast room

The home also retains original leadlighting, polished hardwood floors and ornate fretwork.

The grounds include a north-facing floodlit tennis court, a heated swimming pool and spa with poolside cabana and wet bar, multiple entertaining terraces, landscaped seating areas, BBQ facilities, and a wide harbour-view verandah.

A former coach house has been reimagined as a home theatre, gym and teenage retreat.

Additional modern conveniences include a walk-in pantry, solar panels, skylights, abundant storage and ceiling fans.

According to news.com.au, the Cremorne estate has hosted an array of notable guests over the years, including Hugh Jackman, Nigella Lawson and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

For Wilkinson and FitzSimons, however, it has primarily been a family home for their three children โ€” Billi, Louis and Jake โ€” who have now moved out.

The couple are downsizing after more than 25 years in the property.

Before Ingleneuk, they lived in Mosman, selling their marital home in the late 1990s for $1.65 million after purchasing it in 1993 for $855,000.

Ingleneuk is listed with Monika Tu and Jad Khattar of Black Diamondz, alongside Brad Pillinger of Pillinger with a price guide of $23M.
