Well-known media identity joins The Agency

Tim Gossage can’t wait to do his first open home.

The veteran sports broadcaster, host of SEN WA Breakfast radio and ASX Market Goss podcast host, is a week into his first full-time real estate role with The Agency Group in Perth.

At 58, Mr Gossage said he was serious about his new career and had already secured his first listing.

“Someone I’ve known for a long time said, ‘Yep, I’ve got a little house on a strat title in Queens Park’, so he’s given me that (to sell),” he said.

“So I’m getting the ball rolling on my first listing. I’m excited and I feel young again.

“I’m looking forward to doing home opens and pressing the flesh with the people.”

While Tim is gearing up for his first sale as an agent, for the past three years he has worked as a licensed auctioneer with The Agency.

“I am so pleased to have increased my commitment to The Agency Group as a property partner,” he said.

“Over the past few years, I have been at the coalface seeing Western Australia’s biggest and best property bidders go to work at auctions.

“But it’s also well-known auctions are less prevalent here than they are on the East Coast and a lot of work goes into securing sales before having to reach for the auction hammer.

“With a real estate registration under my belt, I can now delve deeper into the sales process guiding clients all the way through the process from listing to settlement.

“It’s going to be a challenge but after close to 30 years on TV as a broadcaster, it’s invigorating to bring a fresh approach to a new industry.”

Mr Gossage said he would focus on creating trust with his clients, first rate marketing and generating top results, while not limiting himself to selling in one particular area or set suburbs.

He said while he has a high profile in Western Australia, that alone would not be enough to generate sales, and he definitely has the work ethic and commitment to achieve success.

“I want people to know that having a profile and being well-known is one thing, but actually doing the job professionally, and not just using the name and the journey, is another thing,” Mr Gossage said.

“This is not a gimmick, this is real and it’s something that I’m passionate about.

“They (The Agency) didn’t approach me to do real estate, I approached myself. I’m challenging myself.

“This is not a fly by night career path, this is something that I want to make a good fist of, for at least the next decade.”
