Sydney Eastern Suburbs specialist Albert Sassoon joins McGrath

McGrath Estate Agents has announced that top eastern suburbs specialist, Albert Sassoon, will join the agency, as an important recruit to its Edgecliff team.

In announcing the appointment, McGrath regional sales manager James Hayashi said McGrath was thrilled to welcome Albert and his team to their sales division.

“He is well-known and respected as an area specialist for premium properties within Sydney’s eastern suburbs and he will continue to focus on servicing his clients in Vaucluse, Dover Heights, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay, and North Bondi,” Mr Hayashi said.

Mr Sassoon’s reputation and respect within the industry spans close to two decades, most recently as Principal of Belle Property Double Bay (2014-2019) and prior to that eight years as Principal of Laing and Simmons Bondi.

His sales record in 2019 includes achieving $5.75 million for 30 Northland Road, Bellevue Hill; and $4.1 million for 26 Macdonald Street, Vaucluse.

He also sold 10/2-4 Nott Avenue Bondi twice within a two year period – achieving $5 million in September 2018, and $4.5 million in November 2016.

McGrath veteran of 26 years, Adrian Bo, is now immersed in the company’s recruitment of key agents and said Mr Sassoon embodied the style of agent that the company sought to partner with.

“I’ve known Albert for 17 years and have the utmost respect for his approach to real estate – not only is he a skilled negotiator, he is authentic and equally passionate about servicing his clients so they can make informed decisions,” Mr Bo said.

“Albert has established quality relationships within his local area and is very active within his local community, whether it is at his kid’s school, or following his much-loved footy team.”

“Importantly, he comes to McGrath with a strong market profile, database and a good support team, including a young and dynamic associate agent, Michael Aubussun. They will hit the ground running,” Mr Bo added.

Commenting on the local market, Mr Sassoon said, for this time of the year, there was a fundamental lack of supply particularly in the $3 to $7 million price bracket.

“However, without a doubt, buyer demand is extremely strong, especially as funding becomes more available. My buyers tend not to be discretionary, but are upgraders or downsizers that are keen to transact.

“Due to limited availability, some buyers are making compromises to secure a home due to a change in circumstances, or the need to be closer to school catchment zones. At some point, we expect the equilibrium to shift.”

Mr Sassoon said when considering a change of direction for his own business, he was attracted to McGrath for a number of reasons.

“It was an easy decision knowing that I would have access to great resources, training and coaching.

“I believe ongoing education is incredibly important to anyone’s success. But most importantly, I would not be competing with a selling Principal, and part of a well-capitalised company.”
