Rugby pro to help drive Ray White Rural

Well-known high-performance rugby coach Chris Malone has joined Ray White Rural and Livestock as State Manager – NSW to help drive productivity across the network.

Ray White Rural is embarking on an ambitious growth and productivity plan for 2019.

Ray White Rural and Livestock CEO Stephen Nell said there had never been a more critical time to invest into the business.

“This year is our 25th year of operation and, with over 130 rural offices nationally and more than $1.6B in sales annually, we are ensuring our members have the best resources to run strong local businesses,” Mr Nell said.

Mr Malone, a former fly-half who spent 10 years playing in the English Premiership, later led and coached high-performance teams and individuals at the NSW Waratahs, the Australian Wallabies and Sydney University Football Club for more than a decade.

In the period leading up to his appointment to the corporate office, Mr Malone worked intensively with a leading Ray White business to experience the Ray White productivity model first hand.

“The combination of Chris’ leadership and performance development skills coupled with his exposure to the best application of the Ray White productivity model will be an asset to the network of 130 rural offices in Australia,” Mr Nell said.

“Chris has been working with us under a leading office and principal in the lead-up to his formal commencement in the corporate role, with a view that his focus in our company is to facilitate the Ray White model, drive efficiencies, increase productivity, navigate down markets and draw on his coaching and leadership to support our members,” Mr Nell said.

“He is fully au fait with the tried and tested model employed by the best and most long-lasting businesses in our company and he will use that exposure and knowledge to drive efficiency and growth across our company.”

Mr Malone said there were many synergies between leading a team of rugby players and running a successful real estate business.

“At the heart of all successful businesses or sporting teams is good leadership. We want to help all our owners to be more profitable and also grow by attracting the best talent,” Mr Malone said.

“I will help our owners with a proven formula to bring people on, plus I will show them how to monitor and lead their business.”
