Pretty Little Liars star, Shay Mitchell, has moved from Los Feliz to San Fernando Valley with her partner, former Entertainment Tonight Canada reporter Matte Babel and their daughter Atlas Noa.
The Canadian actress, who is best known for her role as Emily Fields on the 2010’s teen-drama Pretty Little Liars, has purchased a $7.2 million mansion in the gated community of Hidden Hills, according to Dirt.
The Mediterranean-inspired abode was built in 1990 by celebrity architect Richard Landry, who is known in California as the ‘king of the mega-mansion’.
But the 743sq m home has a warmer feel than the architect’s renowned glitz and glamour, featuring exposed beams, arched doorways, and numerous fireplaces that provide a vintage feel.
The home boasts a humble four bedrooms. But nothing is low-key about the massive upstairs retreat hosting a large viewing balcony and dual walk-in closets. A luxe stone-clad bath boasts a steam shower, soaking tub and two-sided fireplace.
A double front door notched into a turret opens into a circular grand foyer with French doors leads the the back garden.
Architectural Digest (AD) reported the stunning 1.57-acre estate features a pool, gazebo-topped hot tub and an entertainment centre with a refrigerator, beer tap, barbecue, and pizza oven, shaded by mature oak trees.
Steps descend to the secluded lower lawn, which holds a one-bedroom guesthouse outfitted with a kitchen, den with fireplace, covered patio and a sports court, plus a pool house with a bathroom, Dirt reported.
The residence also showcases classic Californian exterior stonework topped by a red tile roof.
Last year, Mitchell told AD she prefers colourful interior design, so it will be interesting to see how she transformed the light-washed space.
“For me, I couldn’t have a house that’s one colour. I like the rooms to be different and emote different things when I walk into them… I wanted it to feel soft and welcoming and warm,” she told AD at the time.
