Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has put his family home on the market after just one season in the top job, citing the demanding commute to the team’s practice facility.

The four-bedroom house in McKinney, Texas, is listed for $3.8 million ($AUD5.9 million).

Brian is looking to move closer to the Star – the Cowboys’ training facility in Frisco, according to Mansion Global.

The single-storey home sits on a one-acre lot in the gated Stonebridge Ranch community.

It was custom-built in 2021 for its previous owner, and the Schottenheimer family purchased it off-market through Himel after Brian joined the Cowboys as offensive coordinator in 2022.

The 534-square-metre property features a chef’s kitchen, cathedral ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace, and a spa-style primary bathroom.

Outside, the grounds include an infinity-edge pool, yoga garden, and standalone three-car garage.

In Brian’s early weeks as head coach, the property made headlines when a snake bit the family dog before a Week 2 game against the New York Giants, and an owl found its way inside the house before a matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

Brian, 52, is the son of the late Marty Schottenheimer, who spent 21 seasons as an NFL player and coach.

He played college football at the University of Kansas and University of Florida before beginning his coaching career in 1997, reaching offensive coordinator level by 2006.

Carrie Himel of Compass holds the listing.
