Pop king Robbie Williams buys Fannie Brice mansion

Music superstar Robbie Williams has added a new purchase to his property portfolio, paying US$49.5 million for the former home of American comedienne, singer, theatre and film actress Fannie Brice.

According to toptenrealestatedeals.com, the Faring Estate, which was once listed as high as US$70 million, is known as one of Los Angeles’ most storied and lovely homes.

Encompassing 1758sq m, the compound has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms with a main house and two separate guest houses.

The two-storey mansion features a spiral staircase and inlaid wood floor that opens into a large main living room with the nearby formal dining room seating 12 people.

The luxurious primary suite in the main house has a fireplace in the sitting area and elegant separate bathrooms, his with a masculine vibe and hers much more feminine with its own salon hair station.

There’s also a chef’s kitchen with breakfast nook, a book-lined study with views over the grounds and a comfortable family room with fireplace.

Outside there is a circular motor court and a second gated motor court with a garage, which accommodates 15 or more cars. There is also a spacious lawn area, pool with its own fitness centre and tennis court.

For the gardeners, there’s a brick-paved, raised-bed, vegetable-and-flower garden as well as a long koi pond with tiny fountains.

The estate sits behind the double-gated entry, on just under two private acres.

Earlier this year Williams sold his last home to Drake for US$75 million.
