Best-selling female recording artist of all time, Mariah Carey, has reportedly purchased a 4.2-acre Atlanta mansion in an off-market deal valued at US$5.65 million.
According to The Dirt, the 1200sq m Southern Colonial mansion, was previously rented to movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a few years ago, before Carey picked up the property late last year.
Situated in the posh Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs, the mansion features nine bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a large kitchen with premium culinary equipment and white marble, a huge family room with a fireplace and several sets of French doors, a movie theatre, and a mirror-walled gym.
The estate boasts a gated driveway in the shape of a heart, a swimming pool and pool house privately set against dense woodlands.
It also has a spacious guest apartment with a fireplace, and a children’s playground.
Outside, the 4.2-acre property features a sea of rolling lawns bordered by well-tended plantings and shaded by mature specimen trees.
Carey has reportedly already added her personal touch to the estate removing much of the traditional wallpaper and adding a pink and cream rug and pink chandelier to the foyer, while a giant tufted velvet headboard was installed in the main bedroom.
In addition to her new Atlanta mansion, Carey also owns a penthouse in lower Manhattan, as well as a three-acre beachfront compound on the Bahamas’ ultra-exclusive Windermere Island.
