Hannah Gill named an ACT Telstra Business Woman of the Year

The Managing Director of a Canberra property management business has been named as one of five Telstra Business Women of the Year in the Australian Capital Territory.

Independent Property Management’s Hannah Gill won the medium and large business award this week and will go on to the National Awards in Sydney in May.

Ms Gill is a highly regarded professional and advocate for the property industry and regularly speaks at conferences across Australia and internationally.

She joined Independent at age 21 and rose to the position of Managing Director of Property Management. She now guides a team of 62 and is regarded as a specialist in rent roll growth, leadership, client experience, innovation and best practice.

The judges said Ms Gill’s journey reflects her ability to continually develop and deliver value to business.

She also runs boutique property consultancy business, Gill & Hooper, which hosts innovative real estate study tours across Australia and overseas, and is developing build.RENT, a new affordable housing model where apartments are rented to lower-income occupants at 20 per cent below market rate.

For 25 years, the Telstra Business Womenโ€™s Awards have recognised more than 3,000 exceptional women in leadership, who are transforming the way we lead businesses from all corners of Australia and across all industries.

Telstra Business Womenโ€™s Awards Ambassador Alex Badenoch congratulated the Australian Capital Territory winners, who are all inspiring examples of leaders challenging the status quo within and beyond their industries.ย

โ€œFor a quarter of a century, the Telstra Business Womenโ€™s Awards have advocated for women in business, helping to promote gender equality in the workplace and recognising the women who are paving the way for future generations,โ€ Ms Badenoch said.

โ€œThese women are setting new benchmarks for what it means to be a successful business person, championing inclusion and innovation as they do so.โ€

Ms Gill โ€“ along with Telstra ACT Business Woman of the Year Heidi Prowse and other the ACT finalists, Rhiannon Beach, Bree Hills and Samantha Truscott โ€“ will be invited to Sydney for the National Awards judging on Wednesday 27 May.

The national winners will then be announced at a dinner celebration on Thursday, 28 May.ย
