Barry Plant Group welcomes Newport office

Led by an experienced and dynamic team, the new Barry Plant office in Newport will provide local vendors and buyers the opportunity to think differently about their property goals.

The property outlook for the Newport and Hobsons Bay surroundings is strong, with the median price having increased from $950,000 in January 2017 to its highest point of $1,067,500 in December 2017 – and is set to increase further given sales results over January and February 2018.

The Newport office is led by directors Paps Manikhot and Tony Skrekovski.

Mr Manikhot has a long association with the Hobsons Bay area and has been in the industry for seven years, with experience in selling properties in Altona, Altona North, Seabrook and Point Cook. He believes the current popularity of the Newport area among buyers is a result of convenience, heritage and lifestyle.

“Newport is a bright, vibrant, multicultural community that is popular with a diverse range of home-buyers, who are drawn to the unique blend of historical heritage, rich lifestyle and community involvement,” he said.

“Newport is only a short six to seven kilometres into the CBD, making this an area most attractive to young professionals who can easily commute to the hub of the city, whether it is for work or socialising.”

Mr Skrekovski, an agent since 1994 who has been involved in thousands of real estate transactions, joined the Barry Plant Group in 2005 as Director of the Point Cook Office, which has won a number of prestigious awards including the REIV award for Best Agency of the Year.

In addition, two further working partners in the business are Ray Harb and Simon Khouri, who will both add further real estate experience, local knowledge and marketing expertise.

Mr Harb grew up in the area, attending schools in Newport and Altona North, and playing football and cricket with local clubs. He has since worked in real estate at the Point Cook office, giving him a unique and deep understanding of the local market.

Mr Khouri has lived in the area since 1998 and, over the course of his 15-year career, has sold properties in Point Cook, Sanctuary Lakes Estate, Seabrook and William’s Landing.

With more than 60 years of real estate experience collectively, the team are determined, success-driven and committed to achieving the best results for clients by taking innovative approaches to marketing and selling properties.

“Barry Plant Newport is new, fresh and innovative. We are there to raise the bar and bring a new approach to an area that deserves the best,” said Mr Skrekovski.
