The luxury penthouse that served as Denzel Washington’s character’s home in Spike Lee’s thriller “Highest 2 Lowest” has sold for US$16.25 million (AU$25.6 million), setting a new price-per-square-foot record for Brooklyn sponsor condominiums.
Penthouse B at Olympia DUMBO achieved US$3,297 per square foot (AU$5,200), making it the highest rate ever recorded for a sponsor condo in the borough and the third most expensive condominium sale in Brooklyn history.

The timing proved fortuitous – the sale closed shortly after the building gained international exposure when the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025.
The full-floor residence spans 493 square metres across the 32nd floor of the building, designed by IMG.

It features five bedrooms, a separate home office, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and a 51-square-metre private terrace with 360-degree views.
A private garage was available as an optional extra for US$1 million (AU$1.58 million).

The property was co-listed by Jessica Peters and Carl Ekroth of The Jessica Peters Team at Douglas Elliman, Karen Heyman and Casey Heyman of Sotheby’s International Realty, and Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the Eklund|Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman.
Another residence in the building, Residence 27A, recorded the second-highest price-per-square-foot sale for the borough.

Olympia DUMBO offers more than 3,500 square metres of amenity space across three floors, including indoor and outdoor pools, what the developers describe as New York City’s highest private outdoor tennis court, a fitness centre, sauna, steam room, movement and spin studios, and a juice bar.

A-list celebs reported to own in the building include Joe Jonas, Ben Simmons, and “Let it Go” songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
Family amenities include a playroom, themed playground, bowling alley, private park, and waterpark.
