The Agency expands Tassie team with Wayne Riethoff and Bec Gardner

The Agency has announced the recruitment of two new agents in Tasmania, the latest step in the brand’s Apple Isle expansion plans.

Wayne Riethoff and Bec Gardner, who have worked in partnership for the past two years, have joined the the national network.

Focusing on Northern Tasmania, Mr Riethoff and Ms Gardner have more than 25 years of combined experience in the real estate profession.

The announcement follows The Agency’s acquisition of the Bushby Property Group last year.

Ms Gardner said the pair were “super excited” to be working with The Agency team, and that their expansion ambitions tied in well with The Agency’s plans.

“Earlier this year we spoke with Matt Lahood and Andrew Jensen at The Agency, who were amazing,” she said.

“With The Agency being very new into Launceston, there’s obviously a lot of growth to happen for them and we want to grow our own business as well, so it just seemed like a really good fit.”

Ms Gardner said 2023 marked a return to a “normal” market in Tasmania’s north.

“This is what the market was like when I first started real estate three-and-a-half-years ago,” she said.

“We’re seeing a a lot of interstate buyers still, we saw that over Covid, that people want to come and have a sea change and move to Tasmania.”

This interest from interstate was a key motivator for joining The Agency, she added.

“Absolutely, that was also something for us to know that we’ve just got access to buyers via our colleagues interstate as well.”

The Agency’s General Manager of Sales – Tasmania, Sally O’Connell, said she was delighted to welcome Mr Riethoff and Ms Gardner to the growing team.

“The Agency was established to bring the most experienced group of people in the real estate space together under a model that is more responsive to today’s property market and I firmly believe that these two leading professionals will deliver outstanding results for their clients as part of our expanding team,” she said.

“It’s an exciting time for Launceston as more top-performing real estate professionals from the local area join our national network, providing more value and a higher standard of service that wasn’t previously available under one, single brand.

“We have further expansion plans for the state where we will look to establish a presence in key markets such as Hobart and Devonport as well as other strategic locations throughout Tasmania.”
