Schitt’s Creek Star Emily Hampshire, best known for her portrayal of Stevie Budd on the hit Canadian show, has just bought two side-by-side homes in Los Angeles for US$2.7 million.
According to The Dirt, it’s not clear what the actress intends to do with the compound just yet, although the character Stevie Budd was best-known as the Rosebud Hotel manager, so Hampshire could well be looking to take on some tenants.
The complex sits on a corner lot in a prime pocket of Silver Lake, on LA’s Eastside.
Both houses are small, spanning just over 600sq m, with each including just one bedroom. There’s also a third bedroom on the hillside premises, located in what the listing calls a “basement studio”.
The complex previously sold in 2019 for US$1.7 million, however, the entire property has been significantly renovated including fresh paint throughout and two new kitchens with top-of-the-line Wolf and SubZero appliances.
The 2750sq m lot boasts panoramic neighbourhood views with the larger home having a spacious living room, fireplace and French doors leading to terraced gardens and a courtyard.
It also includes an open bathroom that features dual sinks, a glass-walled shower and oval soaking tub.
The second, smaller house has been impressively upgraded with an open kitchen with high-grade appliances and also features neighbourhood views.
Hampshire was born and raised in Canada and had been acting and doing voice-over work since the ’90s, before landing the life-changing role of Stevie Budd on Schitt’s Creek.
