Last spring, Rosie OโDonnell listed her New York City penthouse for sale at US$8.3 million as she prepared to move to the West Coast.
She now resides in a rented beachfront property in Malibu with her daughter, Dakota.
After a brief withdrawal from the market in December, OโDonnell’s upscale Midtown Manhattan apartment in Turtle Bay has been relisted with a reduced price of US$7.5 million, according to the Robb Report.
The sale is managed by Caroline Bass from The Corcoran Group.
Originally purchased for US$8 million in 2017, OโDonnell’s duplex has undergone significant renovations by its previous owners.
Situated atop the 33-storey Sterling Plaza, the apartment encompasses the buildingโs final two floors, providing expansive living space across about 334sq m.
It features four bedrooms, three bathroom s, Russian wide-plank oak flooring, sophisticated millwork, modern lighting fixtures, a Guggenheim-inspired staircase, and cutting-edge home-automation systems from Savant and Nest.
A highlight of the property is its spacious roof terrace, ideal for outdoor entertainment, offering panoramic views of the East River and iconic New York skylines, including the Chrysler and Empire State buildings.
The interior boasts a grand living area with a large honed black granite wood-burning fireplace and a dining room equipped with a wet bar and built-in window seating.
The sleek Boffi kitchen is fitted with Corian countertops, an island for casual dining, and high-end appliances from Gaggenau and Miele.
Additional luxurious amenities include a Swedish sauna and a private primary bedroom that features six custom-designed closets, an extra walk-in closet, and a lavish marble bathroom with heated floors, dual vanities, a freestanding bath, and a glass-encased steam shower.
The penthouse also carries a substantial monthly maintenance fee of US$5119, which provides access to services including a 24-hour doorman and concierge.
Rosie OโDonnell, a renowned comedian and former talk show host, has had a notable career since her stand-up days in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
