The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia and the State Library of Western Australia are presenting a public exhibition celebrating a century of REIWA service.
REIWA CEO Neville Pozzi, said the centenary was a major milestone in the Instituteโs history and he was delighted to be able to share how REIWA has grown and positively influenced the state over the past 100 years.
โWe have been preparing for this exhibition since 2011 when our Archive Committee convened. A lot of hard work and preparation has gone into organising our historical records and artefacts. The
exhibition of materials has been complemented by drawing from the collections in the State Library of Western Australia.
โWe are delighted to have partnered with the State Library who have assisted us in selecting materials and in making the exhibition appealing to a wide audience,โ Mr Pozzi said. The exhibition will draw upon the Instituteโs archives, and those of its members. It will also include items from the J.S Battye Library of West Australian History to help tell the story of WAโs rich real estate history, buying and selling through the decades, and the colourful characters and influencers in the industry.
โProperty affects all of our lives in some shape or form and I think this exhibition will provide West Australians with a fascinating insight into the evolution of the association that has been at the forefront of real estate in WA to the benefit of its members and the public alike,โ Mr Pozzi said.
The Honourable Bill Johnston MLA, Minister for the Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety, will formally open the exhibition.
The exhibition will run at the State Library of Western Australia in the Ground Floor Gallery from 1 March to 31 May 2018.
