REIQ appoints two new board directors

The Real Estate Institute of Queensland has announced the appointment of two new directors to its board.

Former Ray White Queensland CEO, Peter Camphin, and former REIQ North Queensland area manager, Leslie Freeman, both joined the board, effective immediately, at the close of Friday’s annual general meeting.

“As we continue to build on our resources to help support real estate professionals across our great state, I am encouraged to see our new board members adding skills and experience to help us grow to new and exciting places,” REIQ Board Chairman, Peter Brewer said.

“With their combined 80 years of diverse experience across agency practice, financing, franchising, risk management and innovative strategy development, backed by robust business acumen and an appetite to embrace the future, both Peter and Leslie will be of great benefit to the REIQ.”

Mr Camphin has owned multiple real estate businesses, held positions in governance and advisory, and directed state and national franchising operations across Australia and New Zealand as the former CEO of Ray White Queensland – a position he held for almost 20 years.

Mr Freeman built a real estate business from the ground up and then managed it for over 30 years. After selling his agency in 2011, he joined the REIQ as the area manager for North Queensland.
