Real estate’s night of nights – all the AREAs winners

Familiar faces scooped many of the key 2021 Annual REA Excellence Awards last night with DiJONES taking out Residential Agency of the Year for the second year in a row.

More than 500 property professionals came together at venues across Australia to celebrate the winners of more than 40 awards.

First established in 2016, the AREAs celebrate the success of property industry professionals and their outstanding performance in supporting Australians through every aspect of their real estate journey.

DiJONES Head of Investment Management Pamela Styling said the agency was delighted to take home the award for Residential Agency of the Year for the second year in a row.

“Winning any award is a massive achievement for our business and something we take very seriously,” she said.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised within the industry and with the message our AREA sends to our people – that we’re doing the right thing at the right time.”

Laing+Simmons Chief Executive Officer Leanne Pilkington again won Most Influential Woman in the Property Market, after claiming the same award in 2019, while Raine & Horne Kurri Kurri’s Ryan Mitchell went back-to-back as Property Manager of the Year.

Key 2 Sale Real Estate took out the inaugural Wellbeing Initiative of the Year Award.

The REA Group partnered with health experts at Benny Button for the award, which was designed to recognise companies and individuals who have introduced wellbeing initiatives in the workplace to support their teams at work and in their personal lives.

The Top Residential Agent categories also saw some repeat winners with OBrien Real Estate’s Michelle Stephens taking out the Victorian AREA for the second year in a row, while Hayman Partner’s Brett Hayman did the same in the ACT.

There was an even split this year between male and female winners in the Top Residential Agents categories with Kate Smith taking out the award in South Australia, Vivien Yap in Western Australia, and Abi Freeman in Tasmania.

Josh Tesolin won Top Residential Agent for NSW, Tony O’Doherty took the title in QLD, and Daniel Harris claimed the AREA in the Northern Territory.

REA Group Chief Customer Officer Kul Singh attended the NSW event and extended his congratulations to the winners and finalists.

“We had an incredibly high calibre of submissions, the best I’ve seen,” he said.

“It was fantastic to see the industry physically come together to celebrate the successes of 2021.

“What our customers do impacts so many Australians, and they are there right through every aspect of the property journey. As partner of the industry, we’re delighted to recognise property’s finest for their outstanding achievements.

“The AREAs’ prize packages are all designed to assist customers to win new business, and I’m confident our winners will gain a lot of value from this year’s package. A big congratulations to all winners and finalists.”
