Auckland principal Wayne Maguire, who owns Ray White Mission Bay, is pleased to announce he has acquired two neighbouring businesses from well-regarded veteran agent Peter Best.
Mr Maguire will more than double his team to 55 sales agents when the Kohimarama and St Heliers teams are welcomed into his new big ‘one team’ business structure.
Mr Best, who has owned the two Ray White offices for more than 26 years, will stay on in a leadership capacity to guide and support the combined sales teams.
“We are thrilled that Peter will stay and have a leadership role. He’s so well respected and well regarded in the Bay area,” said Mr Maguire, who has been the number one auctioneer in Ray White New Zealand since 2014.
“I am so excited about what the future holds. There is such a lot of synergy between our businesses that we can offer our agents great administrative support.
“The Eastern Bays epitomises all that is truly wonderful about living in Auckland. It is a thriving community with stunning beaches, the Waitemata Harbour, excellent schools, a multitude of parks and reserves, and all only 10 minutes to the Auckland CBD,” he said.
Mr Best said it was a proud moment to see his businesses offered the opportunity to go to the next level.
“Our team has had a long, proud history with Ray White and this will only continue to grow. The property management part of the business remains with Best In The Bays St Heliers and that will add continuity to the agency overall,” he said.
Graeme Fraser, Head of Agency Operations at Ray White New Zealand, said Mr Maguire’s team had shown consistent energy and enthusiasm to continue to grow their team, with close attention to customer service.
This has resulted in the business obtaining more than 40 per cent market share in the Mission Bay area.
“The Ray White Best In The Bays business, which has been one of the foundation offices of the Ray White Group, is a natural progression for Maguire Realty Ltd and it gives the opportunity to have a seamless business across the Eastern Bays,” said Mr Fraser.
Mr Maguire, who has owned the Mission Bay business in the upmarket eastern suburbs of Auckland for the last five years, said the time was right to expand.
“We’ll be one team, with an extremely strong leadership team plus administrators, sales support, legal, digital and marketing. It’s a natural succession plan for Peter as our teams sit very well together,” he said.
“We now have the scale to have a centralised sales support team for our agents and every salesperson in the business receives one-on-one coaching every week.”
Mr Maguire runs an auction-focused business and personally calls more than 450 auctions each year, with an enviable 80 per cent clearance rate.
“Our volume of sales is down right now but our market share is up. We are neck and neck with where we were this time last year and the market has fallen by 20 per cent in terms of volume,” Mr Maguire said.
Mr Maguire calls and closes more than $20 million in sales each week.
