Raine & Horne ramp up Gold Coast expansion with new Coomera office

Raine & Horne have opened a new office in Coomera on Queensland’s Gold Coast this week, to be run by two well-known local property professionals.

Real estate aces Jacqui Walker and Jason Read will lead Raine & Horne Coomera, which is located at 19C 31 Dreamworld Parkway, Coomera.

Ms Walker has an extensive history as a real estate principal and property manager since 2003, while Mr Read has worked as a sales agent with several independents and significant real estate brands over the past 17 years.

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne, said, “I’m delighted that Jacqui and Jason have agreed to join us directly from another network.

“Jacqui has plenty of ownership experience, including negotiating her way through the GFC, while Jason has the runs on the board in real estate sales, recruitment and training.”

The newly minted business partners have been considering establishing their own real estate office for several years, according to Ms Walker, who will focus on property management, while Mr Read leads the sales team at Raine & Horne Coomera.

Concurrently, Steve Worrad, General Manager, Queensland, Raine & Horne had been urging the dynamic duo to consider collaborating with his firm in the Coomera real estate market.

“Steve and I worked together at a previous network, and he has been a mentor throughout my career. He’s always kept in contact and has been a fantastic support.

“We are seeing the change in real estate marketing with millennials now coming through and the way people are searching for real estate online, which is very different from when we first started,” Mr Read said.

“Given the numbers of southern state investors seeking Gold Coast properties, if we’re selling a house in Coomera, we want it sitting under the nose of an investor in Sydney. With Amplify we can identify this buyer and get the right properties to them.”

Southern state investors are currently competing for Coomera properties with owner-occupiers from Brisbane seeking a Gold Coast lifestyle change, according to Mr Read.

“We have a massive new Westfield shopping centre under construction in Coomera and this is attracting homeowners from Brisbane and savvy investors from Sydney and Melbourne,” he said.

The price sweet spot for Sydney investors and those buyers coming from southern Brisbane is $400,000 to $450,000, which buys a freestanding four-bedroom house on streets such as Tribulation and Antonio Streets in Coomera, noted Mr Read.

“Adding to the contest for Coomera housing is the fact that investors can enjoy yields of up to five per cent, which they won’t get in Sydney or Melbourne.”
