Peter Kakos to lead The Agency’s move into Victoria

Former Marshall White director and McGrath sales director, Peter Kakos will join The Agency as General Manager Victoria to champion the company’s growth into Victoria.

He joins the company with high recommendations in the industry, having made a significant impact as a coach, mentor and business development over the course of his career.

Matt Lahood, CEO, The Agency said of this key appointment, “Peter Kakos is highly regarded in the industry and has made a big impact in real estate as a coach, mentor and in growing businesses – both in culture and sales. He is a respected thought leader and I could not imagine anyone other than Peter Kakos to head up Melbourne for The Agency.”

Mr Kakos is in his 25th year in the Real Estate industry and will be responsible leading The Agency’s expansion plans into Melbourne, and says he is excited about the new challenge ahead of him. “I’ve always thought we could improve the traditional real estate model and when Matt Lahood shared his vision for The Agency, I knew immediately we were perfectly aligned to make a significant and positive impact on the real estate industry”.

However, Mr Kakos says he is under no illusion that the company’s entry into the Melbourne market requires a carefully constructed plan that will focus on five key pillars. This will include the recruitment of a highly skilled team, implementation of a strong support structure and efficient operating systems, cutting edge marketing products, impeccable client service; and a positive and balanced working culture.

Mr Kakos has worked with some of Australia’s premium real estate brands including the director of Marshall White’s Brighton office and as sales, training and marketing director for McGrath’s Neutral Bay, Mosman and Northbridge offices.

“I’ve literally seen the business from every angle. I understand the complexities of running teams, the challenges agents face trying to win business, the yearning for balance in an agent’s life, the struggles of cash flow, the intricate skills needed at the negotiation table”, he explains.

The expansion of the Agency into Victoria follows its successful entry into the NSW market on the 1st of February this year (2017), which has already seen $113 million worth of residential sales. According to the Agency’s spokesperson, the Perth-based business has generated $162 million in residential sales this financial year so far.
