LJ Hooker Property Partners sign leading agent to head their sales team

LJ Hooker Property Partners has welcomed Lachlan Smith to the team as their sales leader where he will focus on mentoring young talent and offer support to the experienced agents.

The Announcement:

Leading Brisbane real estate agent, Lachlan Smith has joined one of LJ Hooker’s largest offices where he will leverage his award-winning sales skills and step up as a dedicated high-performance coach.

He has taken on the role of sales director for LJ Hooker Property Partners, in Brisbane, which represents an exciting change for the successful agent who has spent the past 15 years working with the Ray White group.

Mr Smith will now concentrate on mentoring young talent and supporting experienced agents in growing their focus market areas for the award-winning agency, which is expanding into city’s southern suburbs.

“I have been involved in another brand for many years and my father was involved in setting up Ray White Rural about 25 years ago, so I grew up with the Whites and I never thought I would leave but this was an exciting new opportunity,” Mr Smith said.

“LJ Hooker Property Partners is a very large office, and I could see an amazing opportunity to share my knowledge with those coming through the ranks and help them with different scenarios they might not have dealt with before.”

Head of Network Performance for the LJ Hooker Group, Stephen Mutton welcomed Mr Smith to the network following extensive talks about the new appointment.

He will play a pivotal role in the expansion of LJ Hooker Property Partners, located in Sunnybank Hills, which recently acquired smaller offices in nearby Algester and Mount Gravatt.

“LJ Hooker Property Partners is one of the most dominant agencies in Brisbane and the LJ Hooker network.

“Lachlan is a great addition to the network and with his strong market share and sales success in the areas surrounding Sunnybank Hills, he was the perfect choice,” Mr Mutton said.

“As sales director, he will be dedicated to helping others reach their full potential – both individually and as a team – by building their skills and improving their performance. Under the guidance of senior partners, I know that Lachlan will thrive, and the sales department will continue its strong growth trajectory.”

Mr Smith admits he was initially reluctant to follow in his father Bruce’s footsteps into real estate. But in his early 20s, decided it was time and has never looked back.

“I just loved it – I always enjoyed meeting people and there was a thrill in navigating their next move. Property is a career where you can write your own business and income, the potential is unlimited,” he said.

“My new role is different to sales, but it is still about people. In selling, you are helping buyers and sellers realise their real estate dreams, now I will be helping salespeople do the same in their career.

Commenting on the future of real estate “I don’t see small real estate agencies surviving moving into the future. I think it will be about bigger offices or brands with working from home contract systems or models, and I could see myself building my career for another 15 years with LJ Hooker.”

Mr Smith’s first objective is to ensure his teams are connecting with their target focus market and have an action plan in place to develop an ongoing relationship with them.

“It is delicate when you are establishing contacts but largely if you are able to keep people informed with relevant market insights, then they won’t see regular contact as annoying,” he said.
