The Announcement:

Brisbane’s Bayside real estate leader, LJ Hooker Property Centre, has expanded its sales depth through a merger with South East city specialists, Julie Harris Realty.

The expansion of LJ Hooker Property Centre will increase its market representation along the Old Cleveland Road corridor linking the Bayside with Carindale.

“We’ve been on a growth trajectory for some time, working with quality real estate professionals who are aligned to our commitment to market-leading client service,” LJ Hooker Property Centre Managing Director Iain Carmichael said.

“Julie has built a team of sales specialists who will extend our market outreach. We’re excited that Julie and her team have bought-into our vision for growth and utilise our systems and support to take their careers to the next level.”

Ms Harris had operated her independent agency for seven years before partnering with LJ Hooker Property Centre.

“One of the things that I’ve been looking for is an environment in which my staff – who are everything to my business – had the best systems and people to support their own growth,” Ms Harris said.

“As a small independent operator, it wasn’t possible for me to offer the same lead generation and prospecting systems, extensive agent support team to increase productivity, training and digital marketing solutions that the agents at LJ Hooker Property Centre are receiving.”

LJ Hooker General Manager, Network, Stephen Mutton congratulated LJ Hooker Property Centre for the expansion.

“(Owners) the Carmichael family continues to attract skilled agents, property managers and administrative specialists to their business who want to grow their own productivity under their leadership,” said Mr Mutton.

“LJ Hooker Property Centre’s scale provides their specialists with increased resources. Under LJ Hooker, their team members can focus more time on productive activities provide their sellers and landlords with the strategic advice and outcomes they expect in a modern-day real estate experience.”

Ms Harris said Brisbane’s South-East property market had proven resilient amidst the interest rate increases.

“Prices are actually rallying in many areas,” said Ms Harris.

“Townhouses and apartments are holding up strong. Houses at the top end have come back in price but there’s still a strong amount of First Home Buyers and downsizers looking at three-bedroom townhouses.”
