Kiefer Sutherland gets out of California

Actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland is exiting the California property market, putting up for sale his residence in Los Angeles’ trendy Atwater Village.

The asking price is just over $1.8 million, a considerable increase from the $1.2 million he paid for it in winter 2018, according to the Robb Report.

The property is an English Tudor-style bungalow that has been fully modernised.

Built in the late 1920s, the single-storey home spans about 102.2sq m and includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The interior manages to blend modern amenities with original period details, according to the listing held by Kelly Sutherland of Coldwell Banker Realty.

As for exterior features, the home is situated on a 0.1ha lot.

It boasts a whitewashed stucco faรงade, adorned with black-trimmed casement windows and a steeply pitched roofline.

The property also includes a gated cobblestone driveway that leads to a detached two-car garage situated in the backyard.

Inside, the bungalow features a light-filled living room with a distinct barrel ceiling.

The family room, which was once used as a dining area, seamlessly flows from the living room through a wide arched doorway.

The kitchen has seen significant upgrades, including hexagon tile floors, quartz countertops and SMEG appliances, complemented by an adjoining breakfast nook.

Additional conveniences within the home include a central hallway furnished with original built-in shelves and extra storage space.

The primary bedroom is spacious, with ample closet space and an adjoining bathroom that features a large glass-encased shower.

The outdoor area of the property has a brick patio, ideal for outdoor entertaining, set within hedged grounds.

This latest move by Sutherland to divest from California real estate comes after he sold a property in Toluca Lake for $8 million and purchased a historic estate in New Yorkโ€™s Hudson Valley for $5 million last year.
