On getting into real estate
I was an executive recruiter for 23 years, then the GFC happened and I lost three jobs in as many years. I had to rethink my career and retrain or no one would employ me. A friend suggested real estate so I thought I’d give the certificate a try. I haven’t looked back since.

Don’t take any notice of what everyone else is doing; just worry about what you are doing.
Biggest challenge
The biggest challenge in our immediate future is who wins the election and what their plans will do to the economy and the property market. We can only continue to spread the word and hope that voters make an informed choice on Election Day.
Change for good?
I’d like to see better minimum qualification standards and ongoing CPD. Some people do an online certificate to join up and no further education once they have joined the industry and it shows!
