A contemporary home in Malibu Colony, once owned by actor and producer Jonah Hill, has returned to the market at US$13.25 million (A$18.6 million).
The three-storey property was handed to a private lender based in Boca Raton, Florida, in late 2025 by cannabis investor Hartley Wasko following a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transaction.
Hartley had purchased the landside property from Jonah in 2022 for US$11.1 million (A$15.5 million). That sale netted the Oscar-nominated actor — best known for Superbad, Moneyball, and The Wolf of Wall Street – a US$2.1 million (A$2.9 million) profit after just one year of ownership.
Jonah originally paid US$9 million (A$12.6 million) in 2021, according to the Santa Monica Mirror.
The property sits inside one of Southern California’s most exclusive guard-gated coastal enclaves, positioned between Pacific Coast Highway and the ocean near the Malibu Pier.
Jonah famously repainted the 1980 structure’s exterior a deep charcoal grey during his brief tenure. The home has since been restored to a white facade with modern black-framed windows.

Spanning approximately 3,700 square feet, the residence features four bedrooms and four bathrooms with decor from design firm Vesta Home.
The ground level centres on a soaring living room anchored by a two-tone, floor-to-ceiling fireplace. French doors open to a hedge-lined decked backyard featuring a lagoon-style swimming pool, spa, and outdoor kitchen with a professional grilling station.

The primary suite occupies its own upper wing, complete with private deck, fireplace, and bathroom configured with custom oversized shower, soaking tub, and private sauna.

A floating mezzanine connects the primary suite to two guest bedrooms, while the third level features an expansive rooftop deck with panoramic Pacific Ocean views.

The listing includes a private beach key granting direct walking access to the gated neighbourhood’s secure beach strip.
