Jeff Bezos’ parents buy $74 million Florida compound

Miguel and Jacklyn Bezos, the stepfather and mother of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, are believed to have purchased two side-by-side mansions in Florida’s Coral Gables for US$74 million.

According to Dirt, the two luxury waterfront homes were purchased from different sellers – one for US$34 million and the other, that is still yet to finalise, for US$40 million.

The US$34 million house was sold by Raul Colvoz, the former CEO of PetsMD, and his real estate agent wife Raquel Cordon.

It spans over 1200sq m with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms and boasts contemporary interiors and a sleek kitchen, walls of glass and an enormous foyer, with a saltwater swimming pool and extensive patios serviced by a full outdoor kitchen.

The US$40 million house next door was never on the market, but it’s being sold by Real Housewives of Miami star Nicole Martin and her husband Anthony M Lopez.

The contemporary Mediterranean villa-style property features five bedrooms and five bathrooms in more than 790sq m of living space and was recently overhauled by luxury construction firm MV Group USA and interior designer Briggs Solomon.

The property also includes a host of mature palms, lush gardens, a sports court and an attached six-car garage with car lifts.

Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, owns several luxury condos on New York City’s posh Fifth Avenue, a historic Washington, D.C. mansion, large homes in Seattle and a US$78 million oceanfront residence on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

Meanwhile his main residence is a $165 million estate in Beverly Hills.
