Indi Cleary is carving her own path in Penrith

If thereโ€™s one thing Indi Cleary knows, itโ€™s that there are no shortcuts to success.

The focused, standalone agent has just joined the Ray White Nepean Group and is on a mission to become the best in Sydneyโ€™s west.

โ€œI have big goals to be a successful agent here,โ€ Ms Cleary said.

โ€œIโ€™m looking forward to building a name for myself here, under the Ray White banner, meeting some amazing clients and getting some big, good sales.โ€

And if you recognise the Cleary name, thatโ€™s because Indiโ€™s father is Ivan Cleary, the head coach of the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League and a former professional rugby league footballer.

Her brother is Nathan Cleary who plays with Panthers.

And while Ms Cleary said the family name has helped her with making a few connections, it doesnโ€™t mean sheโ€™s able to rest on her laurels.

โ€œI’ve probably got some good relationships from the footy background and some good clients from that, but itโ€™s very much about standing on your own two feet in the real estate world,โ€ she said.

โ€œYou have to be good and you have to work hard no matter what.

โ€œMy dad inspires me, heโ€™s always talked about following the process and putting in the work as thereโ€™s no shortcuts to success. I have a lot to thank him for.โ€

Ms Cleary said one of her most successful sales, in Cascade Avenue, Glenmore Park, required a lot of hard work when it came to negotiating the final sale price and ensuring the property was perfect for the buying family and their children.

โ€œThereโ€™s a lot of things that come into consideration when it comes to families with children, their needs and what theyโ€™re after,โ€ she said.

And itโ€™s building those close relationships with her clients that Ms Cleary believes has stood her in good stead.

She comes to the Ray White Nepean Group after six years in the industry, with the past 12 months working as a standalone agent.

Growing up, Ms Clearly said it was her mother, Bec Cleary, who inspired her to become an agent as she was one herself.

Over the years, sheโ€™s had the opportunity to see some of Sydneyโ€™s best agents at work, including Bethwyn Richards and Helena Crumpton.

โ€œI actually did some open home assisting with Helena when I was 16,โ€ Ms Cleary said.

โ€œI just knew thatโ€™s what I wanted to do.โ€

Once she completed high school, Ms Cleary joined a Ray White agency on the Northern Beaches at Warriewood, with her uncle, Paul Franks.

In that position she learnt the ropes in a full spectrum of real estate roles including sales assistant, property management, trust accounting and marketing.

Ms Cleary said sheโ€™d returned to Ray White to embark on the next stage of her career.

โ€œI have transitioned back to Ray White for my own personal growth and development,โ€ she said.

โ€œWhat I am loving about my new team at Ray White Nepean Group is the amount of weekly training they offer, the support, the cutting edge technology and of course the family values, which is very important to me.โ€

Ms Cleary has also founded a womenโ€™s networking group in Penrith called EMPOWHER, which meets quarterly to empower like-minded business women to reach new heights.

โ€œThere weren’t any networking organisations for women in Penrith, so it was born from the idea to support women to reach their full potential in whatever field they are in,โ€ she said.

โ€œIt began as a women’s networking group and has become a niche group for influential women in the area to refer and share their knowledge.

โ€œItโ€™s been so beneficial to so many women in business to support each other and mentor each other.โ€

Ray White Nepean Group General Manager Daniel Piredda welcomed Ms Cleary to the team, and said he was thrilled to have her onboard.

โ€œWe aim to provide a springboard to success for all our agents,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe offer all the training, support, technology and help our team needs.

โ€œOur group is experienced in helping young agents become top level performers in our industry.

โ€œWe have the runs on the board and I know Indiโ€™s mindset and work ethic will ensure she is successful in her career with us.โ€
