Heworth Holdings Group has received approval for a 25-storey residential and commercial development in Chatswood, Sydney.
The Announcement:
Heworth Holdings Group (‘Heworth’) has welcomed Gateway approval from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, for its 25-storey mixed-use residential and commercial development in the heart of the Chatswood CBD.
Situated at 44-52 Anderson Street, the development is just 400-metres from the Chatswood Transport Interchange. It includes 156 apartments, over 2,600 sqm of additional commercial floor-space and basement parking for 188 vehicles, bicycle racks and end-of-trip facilities.
The development will provide many public benefits including: a ‘green buffer’ with a landscaped setback along Anderson Street; a pedestrian through-site link; a new cycle lane; and an extension to the public laneway between O’Brien and Day Street.
Affordable housing, public art and additional infrastructure contributions will also be provided.
Heworth says the proposal, which was endorsed by Willoughby Council in May 2021, will help activate the northern end of the Chatswood CBD
“We’re excited that we’ve achieved this significant planning milestone which allows us to progress to a detailed Development Applicaton (DA) next year,” Heworth’s Head of Property, Christopher Walsh, said today.
“The project will deliver a pipeline of much-needed housing stock in the heart of Chatswood, with its retail and commercial components creating an important flow-on of new local employment opportunities for the community.
“It’s a vibrant, mixed-use development which will activate the northern end of Anderson Street and support the future growth of the Chatswood CBD.”
Heworth expects to commence construction in 2023, upon planning approvals being granted.
