Franchise group appoints head of growth to spearhead expansion

Combined Franchise Services Chief Executive Officer Frank Knez said he was excited to have someone with Sabeen Akbani’s depth of experience join the growth team.

The Announcement:

Combined Franchise Services, the name behind Century 21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, has appointed Sabeen Akbani to the role of head of growth and partnerships.

The highly energetic and experienced growth professional has a strong real estate background. Most recently she held the role of business growth director at the PropTech business, Before You Bid, where she notably drove their aggressive growth and built relationships and corporate partnerships with top real estate brands.

“I am really looking forward to leveraging my industry experience and passion to drive growth for both the C21 and BHGRE brands in the strategic regions we want to focus on,” Ms Akbani said.

Frank Knez, CEO of Combined Franchise Services shared that he was excited to have someone with Ms Akbani’s depth of experience join the growth team.

“We are thrilled to have Sabeen join the Combined Franchise Services team. Her solid sales experience, extensive industry alliances, and passion will power Sabeen to be a driving force behind our ambitious expansion plan across both the Century 21 and Better Homes and Garden Real Estate brands,” Mr Knez said.

When looking for her next career challenge, Sabeen was focused on joining a business that she could be passionate about. While she was approached by a number of real estate brands, it was the offering that Century 21 and Better Homes and Garden Real Estate provide its networks that excited her the most.

With both brands being global household names in their own right, they each have a culture that is focused on recruiting like-minded agents and providing them with countless opportunities to network, develop, and excel professionally.

“During my time with Before You Bid, I was exposed to the various offerings that real estate networks provide their affiliates. However, it’s the unique value proposition that Century 21 and Better Homes and Garden Real Estate provide network members that impressed me. Each brand has key points of difference that set them apart in the industry and makes them invaluable to any real estate professional looking to run their own business.” Ms Akbani said.

The appointment of Ms Akbani comes as Century 21 celebrates another very successful year. Commenting on the announcement, James Bell, CEO Century 21 Australasia, said that the appointment of Ms Akbani demonstrates Century 21’s continual focus on growth, with Ms Akbani the ideal person for the role.

“Sabeen is the perfect fit for this role. Through our previous working partnership, Sabeen saw first-hand the value and support we provide our network. Sabeen share’s our vision and I am excited to see her flourish in the role.”

Ms Akabni’s appointment follows the appointment of Michael Spork in the role of growth manager, bolstering the growth team for the two networks. Mr Spork is an experienced sales and business development leader, and a licensed real estate agent with a career spanning over 25 years.

His passion for real estate emerged whilst launching a content marketing platform for residential agents in 2015. This led him to run his own successful residential and commercial client portfolios in both Brisbane and Sydney.

Both Century21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate are two globally recognised brands.

Now operating in 87 countries, Century 21 has grown to 15,000 offices, with over 160,000 agents in the continuously expanding network. In addition to innovative technology, and industry-leading training, C21 network affiliates benefit from the universal awareness that being the largest residential real estate brand in the world affords.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate operates in five countries and has over 400 offices and 14,000 agents. It offers both a traditional office shopfront as well as a mobile model for high-performing agents wanting to operate their own business. Real estate professionals who are part of the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate network benefit from the high-level of consumer trust that comes along with the highly recognisable and much-loved brand.
