Music mogul Dr Dre is set to part ways with his long-held Malibu beach house, asking US$20 million for the property.
According to The Dirt, the rapper is set to make a tidy profit on the sale, having initially picked up the home for just US$4.8 million in 2000.
The three-storey mansion sits on a 650sq m lot right on the white sand of Malibu’s Carbon Beach.
Built in the early 1990s, the luxury home boasts impressive water views and ceiling-high windows in every room that let in plenty of natural light.
Located behind large gates, the front door opens into a small foyer that leads guests to an oversized great room with a stone fireplace and sliding glass doors that open to the impressive balcony.
Inside the 836sq m mansion, there’s an open-plan kitchen with stainless appliances, an executive office, a recording studio, a large gym area, and five guest bedrooms.
The primary bedroom comes with a fireplace, a sitting area and private balcony, and a primary closet with a sauna.
The musician attempted to sell the property 10 years ago, at the time asking between US$11 million and US$12.5 million.
The beach house was previously occupied by the rapper’s ex-wife Nicole Young, who received US$100 million in the divorce settlement, while the musician kept the couple’s extensive property portfolio.
