Jemima Goldsmith, the British writer, producer and former wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has listed her longtime West London mansion for sale after owning the property for nearly three decades.
The five-bedroom property, called Britannia Studios, is on the market with a guide price of £6.5 million (A$11.6 million).
The Daily Mail described the move as a classic case of empty nest syndrome after her children moved out.
The 52-year-old screenwriter and producer bought the home in 1999 while pregnant with her second son and married to Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan, who later became Prime Minister of Pakistan before being jailed on corruption charges. The couple divorced in 2004.
Located on a private mews on the Chelsea-Fulham border, the property is described as more reminiscent of a New York loft than a conventional London family home.
A source close to Jemima told the Daily Mail that security and privacy had kept her in the property for so long.
“She’s considered moving before, but it’s been hard to find somewhere as secure and private. It’s a classic case of empty nest syndrome. It’s time now for a new start as she gets married.”
Jemima – the daughter of the late financier Sir James Goldsmith and his second wife, Lady Annabel – is engaged to billionaire financier Cameron O’Reilly, son of the late Irish media magnate Sir Anthony O’Reilly.
She reportedly plans to divide her time between Cameron’s home in Switzerland and her £15 million (A$26.7 million) manor house in the Cotswolds.
