Cohen Handler, one of Australiaโs largest buyersโ agencies, is providing a new service to high-end buyers with the launch of Cohen Handler Prestige.
While house price growth across major Australian cities are expected to slow in the latter half of 2016 and early 2017, the prestige market at $3 million and above, has remained strong.
Cohen Handler co-founder and Managing Director, Simon Cohen, said that demand for prestige properties are increasing.
โOver the last two years, Cohen Handler has experienced a significant growth in enquiries relating to prestige properties (400% in 2015, 300% in 2016). We are forecasting that the prestige market will continue to grow at a healthy rate, as interest from international and local buyers continues to grow at an extraordinary rate. This year we are already expecting to cross $250 million worth of prestige properties purchased.
โWith a limited supply of prestige properties available, the market will remain competitive. As we lead into the spring and summer months, we typically see more competition among high-end buyers, which is why weโve decided to launch in spring, so buyers can get in quick.โ
Cohen purchases more prestige properties than any other buyers’ agent, having serviced well-known celebrities, investors and some of Australiaโs most high profile business people and luxury homeowners. He is also the only person to get a good deal on a sale from The Block, where he picked up a three-bedroom Tasman Street semi for $1.37 million, the lowest price of the 4 that sold.
โSo much high-value home buying occurs off-market. The launch of Cohen Handler Prestige will provide high-end buyers with more access to these properties with specialised services and agents to exclusively help them through the entire buying process,โ Cohen said.
โWe identify properties for them, present them a tailored selection, and negotiate a great price without paying a premium at auction to create a win-win for both buyer and seller.
โCohen Handler has been growing quickly and is always looking for new ways to provide services better tailored to our clientsโ needs. Last year, we launched a First Home Buyers package, to give first-time buyers a chance to get their foot on the property ladder in a highly competitive market,โ added Cohen.
