Supermodel Cindy Crawford has sold her mid-century Beverly Hills home in the luxurious Trousdale Estates for US$13.5 million.
Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber bought the home for US$11.6 million in 2017 and put it back on the market in August last year.
The home was first built in 1959 in the upmarket Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills. The roughly 500sq m abode boasts five bedrooms, plus five-and-a-half bathrooms.
Crawford initially put the home on the market for US$16 million, according to The Real Deal. The asking price dropped down to $14.75 million in June.
They bought the home from OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who had renovated the home with a mostly black-and-white theme. It appears the celebrity couple made minimal changes to the modern aesthetic.
The one-storey house still showed some classic mid-century features though, including a circular fireplace at the centre of the open-living space.
Speaking to Architectural Digest in 2019, Crawford explained they liked decorating the home “through our own filter”.
“Some of the mid-century stuff is too low or its not comfortable. We make a lot of our upholstery. My husband the cushion density and seat depth because he’s taller.”
However, Crawford revealed Mr Gerber “would sacrifice functionality for the look” in other areas of the home.
“I think it’s my practical mom brain… When my kids were little, I was like, “Can a kid throw up on this?” It had to pass that test,” she said of her own interior design choices.
The property also included a concrete patio at the rear of the home with a fire pit and a lounge area that leads over to the swimming pool. There is also a three-car garage and a large motorcourt at the front of the home.
Crawford and Mr Gerber still own two homes in Malibu, a desert home in La Quintaโs Madison Club, and a cottage in Canada, which Crawford describes as “very Ralph Lauren”.
