Buxton and Beller form formidable partnership

Two of the most established companies in Victorian real estate, Buxton and Beller, have announced they will join forces under the Buxton brand.

The Beller Groupโ€™s Windsor office, founded in 1994 and led by Beller Group Director Andrew Fawell, will on July 1 become Buxton Stonnington, bringing the company to a total of 24 offices across the state.

While the company name will change, the team of more than 20 agents and support staff will continue to service its vast array of clients, including the management of more than $1.5 billion in residential property assets overseen by Rae Tolley and her team.

Mr Fawell said the move was a matter of future proofing and evolving the business, as well as doing what was best for his staff and the company.

“What I admire most is Buxtonโ€™s innate ability to attract incredibly talented people to the business, which is vital to a brandโ€™s longevity,” he said.

โ€œBuxton has such a deep heritage with over 150 years in Melbourneโ€™s real estate market. There is a lot of value in a company that has been through a significant number of property cycles. Comparably, we have 25 years of history so joining forces makes sense strategically.”

Priding itself on providing Victorians with a better real estate experience, Buxton CEO Nathan Jones said he was incredibly excited about the partnership and the acquisition of such experienced and quality operators into the group.

โ€œBuxton is really well placed to continue increasing its market share in Stonnington,” Mr Jones said.

“We have historically dominated Melbourneโ€™s Bayside and South East, and weโ€™ve now taken strong leadership positions in Greater Geelong and Ballarat whilst having a growing presence in Melbourneโ€™s Eastern suburbs.”

Mr Jones said the collaboration would allow them to extend their focus into the key blue chip suburbs within Stonnington.

โ€œAs our network strengthens year on year, we are spending more time developing strategies to improve customer acquisition and advocacy, and this move was certainly a major part of our focus,โ€ he said.

Also transforming is the highly-successful Beller Project Marketing, led by Mr Fawell and Co-Director Heath Thompson, becoming Projects by Buxton. This team has been responsible for some of Melbourneโ€™s most successful boutique property developments.

Continuing to provide strategic advisory services to property developers, the company will now be in a position to leverage the footprint of more than 200 agents at Buxton.

Mr Thompson said that the companyโ€™s work is not like its competitors was what had allowed them to succeed for so long.

โ€œIn the current market, developers need more than just a project marketing sales team; there are so many moving parts that you have to get right,” Mr Thompson said.

“Our clients come to us because they know theyโ€™ll get the right strategic advice from day one which leads to a successful sales campaign.

โ€œWe do the hard yards from the beginning, providing advice from site acquisition, permits, design and funding, all the way through to the marketing and sales process.

Despite being a new brand, โ€˜Projects by Buxtonโ€™ is anchored by the companyโ€™s already-strong reputation within Melbourneโ€™s property development space and the highly-successful the team at Beller Project Marketing.

After recently achieving a 100 per cent sell out rate at the iconic MAST luxury residences on Brightonโ€™s Martin Street, the team has already sold more than 40 per cent of ALIA McKinnon prior to the public release of the 30-apartment development on McKinnon Road, McKinnon.

Mr Jones said Buxton was confident they could continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients

โ€œWe wanted to have an all encompassing property ecosystem, so project marketing was an obvious next step for Buxton,” he said.

“The reliability and consistency of performance is what attracted us to Beller; we share very similar values in that we want to retain clients for life.

โ€œIf you keep giving people good, honest and reliable advice, you can maintain that generational business. That is something Beller has done so well, and with them we know we can sustain this.”

The third arm of the Beller Group, Beller Commercial, is currently launching a new independent brand and will continue to operate from its office in Prahran. From Monday, July 1, Beller Residential and Beller Project Marketing will officially operate under the Buxton brand.
