We Are Real Estate

Brad Robson: Fit for business

Collaboration is key, according to Place Graceville agent Brad Robson

On getting into real estate
Real estate chose me. I was managing a Fitness First health club when one of my team members insisted I go to coffee with her husband who was in real estate. One thing lead to another and before I knew it, I was his PA. Fast forward 16 years and we’re now 50/50 business partners.

The happiest moment in his career
There have been so many but very recently I completed the Digital Live bike ride in Thailand with Steve Carroll and a number of other incredible people. That entire experience would have to be one of the happiest moments.

The most memorable moment
23 Neulands Rd, Indooroopilly. This home is spectacular and has some incredible attention to detail. One of the many features is the artwork painted by Rodney Surawski on the dome ceiling upon entry – truly spectacular.

Best advice he’s received
You’re only as good as your next deal.

Biggest challenge
Big budget technology coming in and doing our job better than what we can because we’re too scared to collaborate and work together. How we meet this, within brands, is to work together with open data and have brands come up with systems and process that agents simply follow. Move away from ‘rock-star’ agents and towards true team work.

Change for good?
A shift away from massive egos and for the industry to embrace humility.

‘Elite’ agent means
Someone who has the customer experience at the centre of everything they do. They’re humble, innovative, they support the community that supports them, they’re respectful, and they exude excellence in all aspects of their home and work life.

#WeAreRealEstate is a series of short interviews with 140 agents all over Australia, exploring the industry’s hopes, concerns, future challenges, and what it really means to be an Elite Agent.
