Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love has listed his sprawling Lake Tahoe estate for US$43 million (A$60.2 million), after calling the property home for more than 40 years.
The stone-clad mansion sits on a 2.5-acre lot in Incline Village, Nevada, with panoramic views over one of the world’s most photographed alpine lakes.

Spanning 18,922 square feet, the property includes 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms.

Listing agent Jeannette Harpole of Keller Williams Realty described the home as a “modern-day castle,” according to the New York Post.

Inside, rooms are themed after different parts of the world – each curated by Mike’s wife Jacquelyne, who reportedly hand-selected pieces for the mansion over the decades.

The couple commissioned southern Indian temple artisans to design the front door, which was blessed by a temple priest, lending the home what the listing describes as a spiritual dimension built into its very design.

The entertainment amenities read like a wish list: a recording studio, home theatre, wine cellar, poker room, sauna, gym, and a pool with a water slide overlooking Lake Tahoe.

In winter, the property even features a built-in ice skating rink.
The surrounding land is protected in perpetuity, adding a conservation element to the estate’s appeal.

Mike, 85, is selling because he and Jacquelyne are looking to downsize now that their eight children are grown.
“What is offered here is the chance to own a piece of American music history, set above one of the world’s most celebrated lakes,” the listing reads.
