Barry Plant continues a focus on the professional development and investment in their network of agents with the 13th annual Kickstart Conference.
Held, last week, the conference commenced with a powerful address from AFL Premiership Coach, Mick Malthouse, focusing on the role of strong leadership and leading teams by example.
โLeadership and integrity are non-negotiables in our business and in 2018 we want to build on our reputation as an industry leader in all our practices to ensure we are a trusted agency for clients and an employer of choice for real estate professionals,โ said Barry Plant CEO, Mike McCarthy.
โOur people are our core asset at Barry Plant and events like the Kick Start Conference are an opportunity to invest in our teams to ensure they are at the cutting edge of marketing trends, client communication, office management and sales strategy to best serve our clients,โ said Mike.
Other speakers included noted hypotherapist, Rohan Gazzard, who has worked with professional athletes and AFL players to help them achieve their full potential by conquering anxiety and self-limiting beliefs.
Break-out sessions for both sales and property management focused on the nuts and bolts strategies that build individual and team successes. Agency owners and directors had a session with John Knight, an expert in handling the back end of real estate businesses, where finances, the right super funds, commission structures and strategic planning are pivotal to squeezing every bit of profitability from a business.
Spiro Drossos, Director of Barry Plant Manningham, gave the most popular presentation of the day. His office is number one in the Barry Plant Group and recently won the Gold AREA for Australian Agency of the year. His session outlined how he achieved this success and how he focusses on raising the bar on every aspect of his business and building the real estate business of the future. Comedian Laurence Mooney ended the conference on a lighter note.
In reflecting on a successful 2017, CEO Mike McCarthy commended the 454 delegates on an outstanding year, with the group once again outperforming the market significantly, with an increase of 9.51% of total value of sales and an increase of 5.21% in properties managed.
