Top Gun: Maverick star Jay Ellis picks up new million dollar home

Top Gun is back in cinemas and smashing box office records while one of the movie’s stars has already started making the most of his success buying a new US$4.5 million LA home.

Actor Jay Ellis, who plays one of Tom Cruise’s proteges in the sequel Top Gun: Maverick, picked up the 1919-built home in Spaulding Square, Los Angeles, just as his career looks set to take a big leap forward.

The wood-paneled, three- bedroom, three-bathroom property comprises 317sq m of living space and sits on 849sq m of land.

According to The Dirt, the property has been extensively renovated, remodelled and restored to European five-star hotel perfection.

The home features a striking columned portico along the front porch running the length of the home.

Inside, the sleekly designed interiors boast an all-white colour scheme with ebony walnut floors and copious built-ins, plus French doors throughout.

The property also includes formal living and dining rooms, a marble-clad kitchen with an eat-in island bench and high-end stainless appliances. There’s also a fireside family room and wallpapered billiard room.

All three bedrooms are on the upper level, including a deluxe master retreat that comes complete with a custom walk-in closet, private terrace, and bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub and a glass-encased shower.

The home also has a grassy backyard, pool and spa, along with a pool house and an outdoor movie theatre.
