Caine Real Estate Chief Executive Officer Jacob Caine has been elected as president of theย Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for the next 12 months.
Mr Caine, a long-time REIV member, and director since 2020, was voted in by REIV board members this week, with fellow directors Megan Mander, a commercial real estate consultant, and Sam Hatzistamatis, a property management operations manager, were elected as senior vice president and vice president respectively.
Mr Caine said he was thrilled about his appointment and was excited to preside over the REIV at such a critical time for the organisation, and the industry more broadly.
โIโve benefited significantly from my membership of the REIV over the years and am eager to contribute back as we lead one of Victoriaโs most important sectors,โ Mr Caine said.
โMy appointment coincides with what is, without doubt, a pivotal time for real estate in Victoria.
โAs the sectorโs peak body, we respect our role in representing the needs and interests of a growing pool of property market participants โ from real estate professionals, to renters, buyers, homeowners and investors.
โThe next 12 months will be a transformational period for the Institute.
โWeโre allowing the sale of REIV Real Estate House in Camberwell to headline an important evolution strategy, which includes investments in our technological and educational capability and capacity, and creating better ways for Victorians to engage with the institute.โ
Mr Caine said he looked forward to working closely with REIV CEO Quentin Kilian and the broader leadership team to advance its advocacy work and market influence.
โWe have a professionally and culturally diverse board motivated to govern REIVโs strategy and orchestrate better outcomes for all Victorians engaged in real estate,โ he said.
Having served as a director at REIV since 2020, Mr Caine was previously a director at realestateview.com.au (View Media Group) between 2017-2020, and co-founder of property tech startup Lodg.
