Australiaโs most tech-enhanced apartment complex will be built in Melbourne, with features including an air purification system and a smart oven that listens to your commands and answers your cooking questions.
Located at 482-492 Drummond St, Carlton, Drummond House is set to redefine modern living with cutting-edge features, many of which are a first for Australia.
The 51 apartments will be spread across 13 levels and not only offer an array of luxurious fittings and finishes, but a focus on offering a world-class lifestyle.
Among its groundbreaking offerings is an air purification system thatโs equipped with UV lights to ensure a bacteria-free environment for its residents.
Each apartment will also feature Siemens intelligent cooking appliances, which means residents can forget about recipes and simply swipe through a range of pre-programmed settings, which are displayed with high-contrast colour images.
They will also be able to interact with their appliances as the oven listens to their commands, responds to enquiries, offers suggestions and transmits the instructions directly to the oven.
And if thatโs not enough technological innovation, Samsung smart fridges will enable residents to remotely view the contents of their fridge and monitor expiry dates, while streamlining grocery management.
Developed by Bensons Property Group, with architecture from Fender Katsalidis and interiors by Sora Interior Design, Drummond House is on the market through Marshall White Projects.
Marshall White Projects Director Leonard Teplin said Drummond House would draw inspiration from apartment buildings in Europe and seek to create a nurturing space that evolved through the various life stages of its residents, from childhood to adulthood, while catering for recreational, health and professional pursuits.
He said the apartment complex would be Carltonโs first fully electric building and offered an 8.7-star energy rating.ย
Another major drawcard for buyers will be the comprehensive wellness centre, which will feature a sauna, salt therapy room and hot and cold baths, while a cinema and outdoor entertainment facilities add to the level of luxury on offer.
โEveryone is fighting to be super luxury, super high end and trying to throw everything at the pointy end of town,โ Mr Teplin said.
โIn a crowded marketplace, what weโve tried to do is be more inclusive.
โWe have areas for the kids, weโve got entertainment areas and areas for health and wellbeing, including saunas and ice baths, gym spaces and yoga studios.
โWe have a couple of private dining rooms, a rooftop cinema and a cinema inside as well.
โSo weโve really tried to cater to a family dynamic.โ
Building on Drummond House is due to start in September, with a build time of about two years.
Prices for the three and four-bedroom apartments, which all have two bathrooms, range between $1.79 million to $6.99 million.
Mr Teplin said other features included keyless entry to the apartments, number plate recognition technology for residents to access their two parking spaces, a business centre, private dining rooms, a childrenโs play area, concierge services and car and dog wash facilities.
โWeโve thought about everything, from the air you breathe through to the sort of appliances that you use in your day-to-day,โ he said.
โThereโs more consideration and in a market where weโve maxed out, we canโt put anymore marble or gold or cooktops.
โWeโve really got to go the other way and think with more consideration about how people choose to live.โ
Mr Teplin said Drummond House would officially launch to the market at the end of April, and interest was already strong.
โThereโs no building in Melbourne that offers all of this,โ he said.
โAnd with some of these products, weโre the first in Australia (to have them).
โWith the air filter system weโre the first in Australia, with the Siemens appliances weโre the first in AUstralia and with the fridges weโre the first in Australia.โ
