Singer Rihanna hasn’t been able to capitalise on the strong US real estate market over the past few years, taking a loss on the recent sale of her Hollywood Hills villa.
According to The Dirt, Rihanna first listed the Mediterranean-influenced property for US$7.5 million in December 2018, before finally selling in an off-market deal for US$6.6 million – US$250,000 less than she paid for it in 2017.
Hidden behind gates and a host of trees and shrubs, on a nearly half-acre block of land above the Sunset Strip, the contemporary stucco and terracotta-roof structure was built in 2015.
Inside, there are six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms spread across more than 660sq m of multi-level living space featuring high ceilings, arched doorways, and a mix of hardwood and tile floors.
There’s also a combination of steel-framed doors and windows throughout the home that offers sweeping city lights and mountain views.
The residence also offers luxurious indoor-outdoor areas and a host of amenities including a movie theatre and billiard room, plus a detached two-car garage with an upper-level guesthouse with its own gym and bath.
If that’s not enough, there’s also a stone-clad foyer with a striking staircase and gold-hued chandeliers, along with a living room displaying a tiled fireplace and chandelier dangling from a ceiling medallion and a formal dining room with a wood-beam ceiling.
There’s also a small family room, which is surrounded by a designer gourmet kitchen outfitted with top-tier appliances and an L-shaped black marble island with seating.
Upstairs, the property boasts four bedrooms with ensuites, including a penthouse-style master retreat with a fireplace, separate sitting area, private balcony, and luxe bath with dual vanities and a soaking tub.
An additional guest suite is located on the lower level.
Outdoors, the grassy backyard features its own infinity pool and spa, along with a barbecue area, perfect for alfresco lounging and entertaining.
